Context: A patient’s relationship with their primary care physician (PCP) or advanced practice provider (APP) is instrumental in their healthcare journey. We also calculated the number of PCPs/APPs seen over 1- and 5-year intervals. Results: 43% of designated providers were from non-primary care specialties.

Card studies using EHR alerts linked to REDCap questionnaires: a practical session on how to build the tools [Research methodology and instrument development]

Background Researchers use card studies to obtain observational data about primary care provider (PCP) knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors on a variety of topics. A survey of PCP users showed equal satisfaction with paper or EHR-based cards. Card responses were easily managed in the REDCap database, not in the medical record.
