If you’re a 4th year medical student who is unmatched at this point, my advice is the following: Focus on securing a one year preliminary or transitional year position! You have to be comfortable managing everything from lacerations, fractures, genital issues, etc in all age ranges and completely on your own.

And I think of the analogy of, like, cancer screening. The stopping the cancer screening doesn’t have that same sort of momentum.
