Today we discuss a new paper in JAMA that tests a stripped down version of the clinician only facing intervention in a pragmatic randomized trial for older adults with serious illness and those 80+. They found a difference of 4% in documented goals of care discussions. Is 4% meaningful? I think it’s you, Bob. Alex: I love that song.

Malaz: One day I was in internal medicine residency and I had to take care of a patient who was admitted from a nursing home with dementia. For me, right now, the worst thing, my nightmare is dying from dementia alone in a nursing home. It requires a fight. It’s been going on for many decades now. Malaz: I love it.
