Our job was primarily to inform private physicians and patients that there was another way to secure that one-to-one relationship and to get away from the bureaucracy that seemed to have taken over medicine. ​The model took off. Our programs are scaling to meet their needs. And, it turns out, there are more perks.

We would make referrals to psycho oncology. I would make referrals to Joe as well as part of the team. But that did not limit those clinicians from making referrals, as Vicky was just saying. But we do have the information about referrals to other ancillary providers as part of that multidisciplinary team.

One positive change that came about was the lifting of restrictions around the use of telemedicine. Clinicians could care for patients across state lines, could prescribe opioids without in person visits, could bill at higher rates for telemedicine than previous to the pandemic. The pandemic was horrific in many ways. Joe: Right.
