We must often deliver complex medical information that carries heavy emotional weight in pressured settings to individuals with varying cultural backgrounds, values, and beliefs. And my grandkid, like, I need you to see this child and, like, how wonderful and special they are. There’s this therapeutic relationship.

What I think so special about palliative care is that there’s some really radical and important ideas that sort of undergird our work and that provided a foundation for our work.
