Although this may seem like it should be the standard, you would be surprised at just how many elderly patients present to our emergency department alone. So when an adult child is present, I make it a point to not only introduce myself to them, but also to thank them for being available for their parent. Mine included.

His transport from his house to our department had been less than ten minutes and the pre-hospital team had done an excellent job of intubating this patient and establishing an IV to begin resuscitation efforts. Lying on the hospital cot. Much literature has evolved, strongly in favor of presenting this as an option.

Lynn 31:56 One little detail that stood out to me, which really rang true to real life, was that caregivers were actually less present during visits in the video visits. For some of my patients, I think it has to do with the respond that the video visit provides, the transportation. Lynn 37:39 I was in the hospital.
