Jerry: Probably for the reason a lot of people go into geriatrics, close relationship with grandparents, volunteered to work in a nursing home as a high school student, just felt really good about being around old people and not having a problem with it. How do we train primary care doctors to do geriatrics?

So I think just as much as we focus on the science and the evidence, it’s important to think about the art of how we apply that to people and the relationships and all of the great fun stuff, the stories that unfold in the exam room alongside the science itself. And I turned to my dad and I said, I think mom needs palliative care.

The results were that the chat bots got the diagnoses right and had an escalation strategy that was better than the doctors, as judged by blinded specialists reading the transcripts. They had no idea. Bob: Yeah.
