The CEO, Susan Clyne, began to present the findings from a recent survey about doctor’s wellbeing. 66% of GPs had been unable to take time off due to difficulty finding locums. My wonderful GP has died, but I am building a relationship with my new one. 87% had to cover out-of-hours shifts on top of that.

Studies from the USA showed that adding one GP per 10,000 inhabitants was associated with 2-5 fewer deaths 5 , 6 and 4 fewer hospitalizations 5 annually. 11 , 13 Over time, GPs come to know their patients well.
