In the Netherlands GPs are also responsible for cardiovascular risk management (CVRM), for which a guideline is made. Patients with a registered depression were compared to two controls. Most cases (82%) were managed entirely within the practice. Reported motivations for urgent GP visits included fear, encouragement by relatives, psychological distress, and pain.
