Role of General Practitioners in Acute Case Handling

Analysis of 500+ urgent GP visits in Germany shows most cases were handled in-office, often driven by fear, distress, or a need for reassurance. Students also recorded patients’ concerns and expectations, which were analyzed using qualitative content analysis. The results showed that 523 cases were collected from 53 GP practices.

Urgent care work definitely isn’t for everyone though. You have to be comfortable managing everything from lacerations, fractures, genital issues, etc in all age ranges and completely on your own. This would require relocating and I am not aware of how much it pays. Another option would be to start your own practice.
