Cardiovascular risk management of patients with depression in Dutch general practices [Behavioral, psychosocial, and mental illness]

The majority of patients with depression is treated by their General Practicioner (GP). In the Netherlands GPs are also responsible for cardiovascular risk management (CVRM), for which a guideline is made. We will present the results at the NAPCRG conference. The CEO, Susan Clyne, began to present the findings from a recent survey about doctor’s wellbeing. 66% of GPs had been unable to take time off due to difficulty finding locums. There was a Milligan-esque relief in these counselling sessions – “I told you I was ill”. 87% had to cover out-of-hours shifts on top of that.
