Objective: To determine how primary care providers (PCP) utilize the eConsult platform. Top utilizers were defined as PCPs with ordering volume in the 75th percentile. A subset of top utilizers contained 264 unique PCPs who ordered 18,972 eConsults. Measures are described using proportions, percentages, median and range.

Context: Electronic health record (EHR) order preference lists and order sets potentially improve efficiency but have limited utility in complex primary care settings. Objective: We assessed adoption, impact on time spent in orders, and clinician perceptions of a comprehensive set of nested order panels (xOrders) for adult primary care.

Context: Continuity of care between a patient and their primary care practitioner (PCP) is a cornerstone of primary care (PC) and is associated with many positive health outcomes including decreased utilization of ER services and lower costs for some populations. This effect grows to 23% lower costs for patients 85 or older.
