There’s all this stuff that we’re supposed to be doing at that stage of life and then you add the complexity of the serious illness. It is really difficult for the patients and the families. And really, I mean, so for example, if a social worker were doing this listening, perhaps there are family dynamics or psychosocial needs that they would be attuned to, whereas I as a physician might have something else I pay attention to.
