I love my Plastic Surgery residency family! I had never rotated in it when I was a medical student, so it was kind of cool being behind the curtain. I'll try my best to catch everyone up with this post, and for the sake of time, I'll try to keep it relatively brief since I know I can get a bit wordy.

What is it about the images of the dying that helps teach medical students? And so they can go to frankaustdeseski.com or mettainstitute.org and find out about upcoming workshops and that sorts of thing. And I think up until the time when my aunt was passing, I had been very afraid of the idea of death in my family.

And then I feel like when I’m in clinic I’m helping individuals, and you only have so much time to help so many people. I came from a family where you didn’t write things down, somebody could find them and hold you to them or all of that kind of stuff. There’s a little paranoia in the family for good reason.
