CDC Proposes Updating Practice Guideline for Prescribing Opioids, Warning Against Continued Misapplication

According to the CDC, the proposed guideline is a clinical tool meant “to improve communication between clinicians and patients, empowering them to make more informed, person-centered decisions related to pain care together.” Clinicians should offer or arrange treatment with medication for patients with opioid use disorder.
