Moral injury is a normal human response to an abnormal traumatic event—a deep soul wound shattering one’s identity and morality. It’s a growing crisis affecting over half of all doctors in the U.S., and it has been linked to rising rates of physician depression , doctor suicide , and medical errors. They’re suffering from moral injury.
