Behavioral health (BH) clinicians who provide clinical supervision often lack formal training for primary care settings, and there is little formal support in their practice settings, which can lead to isolation. There is not yet a uniform approach to providing professional development in primary care supervision.

We must understand how the current policies impact access to care and identify policy-related barriers faced by our patients and families. An integrated care champion could be selected to represent the clinic in meetings with community agencies, and community representatives should be included on the Clinic Advisory Boards.
