During my training, I didn’t receive much education about radiation oncology, and I’m not entirely sure what some of the terms mean (hypofractionated means fewer sessions, right?). It’s a first Department of Health Social Work in a medical school in the country. Again, it happened because the dean of the medical school at that time said, “We were teaching interprofessional education and we were quite successful with it and we’ve been doing it for years.” That, to me, is the goal.

I was very close with my grandparents growing up, and then I actually was exposed to geriatrics as a pre-med student at Yale New Haven Hospital as one of the volunteers and Dr. I explored other things, but I felt like I consistently gravitated toward the care of older adults.
