Despite recommendations for routine screening, this is rarely done. Chronic exposure has been associated with diabetes mellitus, hypertension, skin cancer, renal, bladder and lung cancers, polyneuropathy, and QT prolongation. Arsenic cannot be seen, tasted, or smelled.
