By diagnosis? I was always critical care bound since medical school. I’m controlling everything your placebo versus medication trials. And that’s where things like diagnosis triggers, if you will, prognostic triggers, and then the ideal need-based triggers. By prognosis? Can nudges help?

Zachary: I mean, I did my med school and residency training in Louisville, Kentucky, and I had a second year med student lecture from Joe Rotella who was, I think the chief medical officer at Hospices at the time. They have poor pain, they have poor function, but you also can’t clearly make a diagnosis.

An end-of-life doula is a non-medical support person that provides a longitudinal relationship with aspects of medical, I mean, aspects of companionship, presence, holding space, some logistics, some practical help, decision making perhaps. That’s probably too medical. I’m using my medical brain. Jane: Right.
