If we move away from clinician referrals as the means by which people get access, how do we keep the clinicians engaged, and not enraged? I have 24,500 veterans on our caseload, 14,000 individuals with diagnosed mental health issue, 8,500 with an alcohol and substance abuse. And that referral can be done in real time, a soft handoff. I would hope a referral would go to what’s called an ADRC, and it’s called an Aging and Disability Resource Center.
