After medical school, a person earns the degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO). Most doctors then get additional training in the specialty of their choice. I cannot tell you the number of times that I have seen a patient and discovered additional diagnoses after they had been to urgent care.
