Someone who’s healthy in their 60s and just got diagnosed with diabetes, yeah, they might benefit, if they have a very long life expectancy, to prevent that decline in kidney function. But if they’re not going to live another 20 years, then there’s no point in giving them the extra medication for lowering their A1C.
