Prior podcasts on the ethics of nudging , and a different trial conducted by Kate and Scott in which the default for hospitalized seriously ill patients was to receive a palliative care consult. We didn’t make them communicate it, but we focused them on it, which makes them more likely to then utilize that information.

They don’t have nearly the responsibilities that a certified nursing assistant has when thinking about utilities, groceries, rent, mortgage, all of that stuff on a monthly basis. Goal five is focused on quality insurance, so designing a more effective and responsive system of quality assurance. Eric: Okay.

Eric: When I try to think about what a doula does, should I call it a consult? We utilize the generous donations from our foundation to support the end-of-life doula program. We have one doula who is really well-trained and well experienced in advanced care planning, and that’s kind of her thing that she does. It just depends.
