It’s like a long, I don’t know, almost like a quarter-mile centipede with legs, and the legs are the housing units, the medical units, inpatient mental health.

When we take a mental health history, for example, I think we ask people, we do the PHQ, or whatever it is that we’re doing, asking people that mood. Michael’s Hospital in the Department of Family and Community Medicine. And this is really traumatic event for his street family and the street community that he knew. 80% died exactly where they wanted to and 83% were reconnected to family or friends through a psychosocial support system that we put into place.

And now when I think about the clinic at Duke, when we’re really running on all cylinders, we can get ourselves up to a five, six, seven week wait for a new palliative care referral. If they get palliative care consult, they get one. And there’s a mortality number of people who just can’t make it to get to our clinic.
