One of the largest problems in our ER, it seems, is that there is a subset of patients who visit us on a routine basis. It is a real problem in our ER. We just don't have the time among all the other serious happenings in our ER that require our attention. His last visit to our ER was just three days prior.

I'm not going to lie, after two years of working in the urgent care setting, being in the ER was super chill for me. It kept me busy, but I really enjoyed the hospital I was rotating at, and the attendings let me do a lot in the operating room. My rotation for the month was Trauma/General Surgery.

So that study was focused on patients admitted to the hospital. You know, most, most ERs admit, you know, far fewer than 50% of their patients.

Nathan: I have drawn for my entire life, but I gave up cartoons because I thought I had to during medical school and residency. But if you look at my lecture notes from medical school, it’s just plastered with cartoons and doodles. I thought doctors are serious, cartoons are not serious. It was in there just trying to escape.
