I’m originally an ER physician. I’d been doing ER medicine for over a decade when I went back to palliative fellowship. And we got all into his family stuff and how he’d been suffering with cancer and his goal. Just encourage patients and families to bring music into their healthcare experience.

You know, most, most ERs admit, you know, far fewer than 50% of their patients. They go to observation and go home or just get discharged straight from the ER? And the main topic of today is a paper in Annals of Internal Medicine , Maria first author, that addressed the tradeoffs between initiating dialysis vs continued medical/supportive management. Or is it just this lingering practice of starting dialysis early before really severe complications develop? It’s right there.
