Raj: It was indeed very, very gradual, and the seeds were sown when I was a medical student. I mean, just such struggles around corruption in hospitals, access to opioid pain medication, and you almost had to wait until a friend of yours was in power, so you could have access, get permission. What do you think about that?

He had a 14 month recovery in hospital and rehab and continually asked to have life sustaining treatment suspended so that he could be allowed to die. So she bled a lot and finally called for help and was transferred to the hospital, where she started crashing in the trauma room. She didn’t die in the hospital.
