Creating community. How can we be in clear and compassionate relationships with others (marriage, parenting, community). Illness is a disruption in the natural flow of things, and restoring right relationship within the body (and sometimes within the family, community or cosmos), restores wholeness and well-being. It’s a lot.

Alex: We’ve got a lot to talk about…what states are doing and cities are doing to support older adults in the community. But, what you need is a community-based game there. The long-term care is being actually provided in the community at a much higher rate than what the formal system provides. You go back home.

So when we think about independence, being able to get to the place that we want to be, we’re reliant on things like transportation, whether it be cars or trucks or trains, and how society is built around that. Whether again, be transportation, food delivery, things like that. So sometimes I don’t write.

Whereas with comprehensive dementia care, what you really need is a lot of the support that is delivered in the community. So I think what’s really exciting is that these community-based organizations, some of those groups that provide training, transportation, respite care, all of that was never included. Eric: Okay.
