So we take that science and we apply it to something that’s very messy and chaotic, like a human being or a community or a population. It was like kind of a co op with this common space that different groups could rent for events and meetings and things like that. I think it started off from a need, a hunger in the community.

What is it about the images of the dying that helps teach medical students? They had triple diagnoses, often life threatening illness, but also mental illness and usually some kind of addiction. And dying is too big, too profound for any one model, including the medical model. I wonder why you did that.

Somebody had a hyperglycemic event, so we’re going to check daily, three times a day, blood sugar sugars on everybody. That sense of community in the workplace has changed substantially, and we don’t know the mid or long term impact, and we truly don’t know how it’s going to affect professional well being.
