Should it just be referral to their PMD, who’s all, “Why are these people telling me to do all this stuff all the time?” But nonetheless, the methadone clinic system is entirely separate from the rest of the healthcare system. You don’t sort of know what’s in the black box of a methadone clinic.

So I’m in a specialty clinic, so I’m in this interdisciplinary memory assessment clinic. So I get all the referrals from my great colleagues in primary care. I mean, I don’t want to speak to your healthcare system and what’s happened, but that to me seems inappropriate. We save healthcare.

And it’s a bit of a hokey title, but what I try and impress on readers there is that, the reflection that patients see of themselves, at least metaphorically in the eye of the healthcare provider, needs to be one that is affirming of patient dignity. I mean, we all give lip services saying, “Person-centered care is important.”
