Was there any mention about the impact that hearing loss has in communication or what we should do about it in clinical practice? Including more hospital utilization or healthcare utilization, maybe cognitive impairment issues. My own work focuses on hospitalization and health utilization over time. Is that right?

I didn’t know where they existed within the hospital. Eric 07:04 You actually created things like a curriculum for hospital medicine fellows in radiation oncology. I know, I’m sure it depends with insurance and where you are. But radiation oncology was really more or less like a black box.

Substance use disorder is one of those complex issues in which clinical practice is changing rapidly. I see this in the hospital when I’m doing addiction medicine consults. We’ve all been taught through fellowship or through clinical practice about how to assess pain. They’re often angry.

We could look at cancer registry linked with… Like, I see here Medicare type big data sets, but then you have to rely on insurance claims and that’s going to underestimate SUD when most people aren’t getting treatment and it’s a tough nut to crack.
