All the staff agreed that it was not a representation of the care we provide our patients. When the doctor is late for the clinic, and patients are waiting for more than 30 minutes, it is helpful to have a staff member enter the reception area (not the waiting room) and provide patients with an estimated arrival time for the doctor.

We and our guests have noticed that in our clinical practices, patients and caregivers seem to be asking for such treatments more frequently. It’s just that he was foregoing things that we think would have provided him more benefit. And in addition, my work in palliative care, I also am a clinical ethicist.
