One thing I’m wondering about though is that we have all these wonderful services, and as we educate teams, both hospital medicine teams, primary care teams, palliative care teams about these services, there’s still that push to get people, if we’re talking about inpatient, get people out.

I mean, treatment is really best done in a chronic or continuity setting, whether it’s in a primary care setting or some other. But I think primary care clinicians, geriatricians, should be able to do at least the basic management and HIV care. In San Francisco, HIV care was more specialized in that.
