I’d been working with persons who had diabetes and also caregivers and so forth, trying to go at the direction and realize as I look more and more at hearing loss, that it was totally unrecognized in clinical practice. And so the patients who had been admitted there to die, essentially most, if not all, got better and HIV became much more of a chronic condition. Some age related chronic conditions seem to develop earlier in people with HIV and also geriatric syndromes can be common even amongst people in their 50s.
