I love family medicine because as family physicians, we can be trained to provide care for patients in many different settings. Some family doctors work in a residency training program where they may see patients in the hospital, out of the hospital, and deliver babies. I have kept up my board certification since then.

We’ve also invited Mike Harper, the Chair of the Board of Directors of the American Geriatrics Society (AGS) as well as past-president for the society (and my previous program director). So the data relating to the number of geriatricians in this country, salaries in comparison to hospitalists or primary care physicians.
