Not only would this rulemaking make it easier for patients to obtain treatment, many practitioners have shown a willingness to treat patients using an audio-only telecommunications system. For both proposed rules, the bottom line is that, while telemedicine is here to stay, circumstances permitting it are indeed not limitless.
