So, the consult will come in and then we’ll do what we call a clinical bedside evaluation, where we’ll go and see the patient at the bedside. So, we use that information to formulate a treatment plan. So, if it’s a hospitalized patient, usually the referral will come through to the SLP service.

Alex: Also, I’ll say that on in my clinical practice doing palliative care consults, on the last time I was on service, I resolved to ask each patient, who could answer, which is a subset of the patients who I see, if they were lonely. I’m at least hopeful that I think we’ve made a lot of progress since that time.
