So you don’t have to have the piece of paper that says, I appoint so-and-so only if you want to go outside the legal of the default characterizations, but you have to have a legal document. Many states have gone on to say you can appoint a proxy in an oral discussion with your physician. What words to use? Is the POLST useful?
