Being able to communicate our patient's problems in the third dimension always breaks down barriers to case acceptance as the information gleaned via a CT scan is invaluable for both planning and educating the patient. The possible complications were communicated so that the patient could make an informed decision and proceed with treatment.

So I do think it often does happen that younger adults appoint a surrogate when they engage in estate planning, for example. And I don’t think necessarily, that appointment needs to be a medicalized process. Susan: I’ll just say, I think that could happen outside of the healthcare setting pretty easily and frequently does.
