All of them are going to be over 65 by 2030, so if you figure a quarter of those have diabetes, I call it the silver tsunami that’s coming into the palliative care geriatrics world, so these are topics that are going to be really important to all of us. And just with the aging population, baby boomers are going to be hitting 65.

We were never going to have all the geriatricians that folks had forecast, whether it was 25,000 in 2025 or 30,000 in 2030, we were never going to get there.

I started going to the literature and I noticed that communities of color, those with the Hispanic background, Black individuals were disproportionately impacted by dementia, and I couldn’t believe it.
