Wins and Losses for MAFP Priorities Medical Assistance Rate Reimbursement: Not Passed An important focus for the MAFP during the 2025 session was aligning Medicaid reimbursement rates with Medicare rates for behavioral health and outpatient primary care. The 2026 Legislative Session will begin on February 17, 2026.

CAFP is a proud recipient of this grant, which allowed us to educate more than 1,000 primary care clinicians on reproductive health and abortion care in its first year. Eliminates Medi-Cal pharmacy coverage for Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 (GLP-1) agonists for weight loss, beginning January 1, 2026.
