During my training, I didn’t receive much education about radiation oncology, and I’m not entirely sure what some of the terms mean (hypofractionated means fewer sessions, right?). And I was particularly drawn to the cancer patient population and really thinking about that integration into standard care. So I think education is key.

So the data relating to the number of geriatricians in this country, salaries in comparison to hospitalists or primary care physicians. We were never going to have all the geriatricians that folks had forecast, whether it was 25,000 in 2025 or 30,000 in 2030, we were never going to get there. How long ago?

We support the Primary and Virtual Care Affordability Act (HR 7681), hitch would reauthorize payment for virtual visits as well allowing for two primary care visits per year which would be covered by health plans and not be subject to the high deductible. Read more in the AAFP’s statement.
