One notable trend was a higher representation of international medical graduates and osteopathic physicians in the specialty. In 2024, 77% of ABIM Board Certified nephrologists due for an assessment opted for the LKA over the traditional, 10-year MOC exam. Additionally, participation in LKA remains a leading choice.
