Like this year, 287 geriatric fellows started in 2023, which really isn’t a big change over the last 10 years. We can train medical students and residents about geriatrics without geriatricians. We can change healthcare systems and improve the care of older adults without geriatricians. I really don’t.

And I think the crisis that we’re in right now in healthcare delivery, the idea of laying down my badge, I think that’s maybe a metaphor for being a sheriff, but what about being a healthcare provider? And so I think that’s why it has its moment now even in 2023. So I just can’t keep going.
