Objective: Describe the trends in sickle cell admissions between Jan 2020 and Dec 2023 at an academic medical center (AMC) in Augusta, Georgia. We noted that a small number of patients are readmitted multiple times.

Context: Despite a joint recommendation in 2003 by the AAMC and CDC that bioterrorism and mass-casualty training be included in the medical school curriculum, few medical schools have incorporated formal disaster training.
