I ended up opening Noreta Family Medicine in 2020, a Direct Primary Care (DPC). I would argue that DPC is an escape fire for the larger primary care ecosystem. One study showed that the average primary care visit is 18.9 I wish this patient had known about Direct Primary Care at that time.

Graduated in 2013, did a two-year clinician educator track. I was very close with my grandparents growing up, and then I actually was exposed to geriatrics as a pre-med student at Yale New Haven Hospital as one of the volunteers and Dr. I explored other things, but I felt like I consistently gravitated toward the care of older adults.

I can remember two instances of storytelling in training or in education, I guess. That was January 2020. I was, you know, in the ICU over at Brigham and Women’s leading a Covid sort of palliative care team. We had, you know, it was a Monday night in June of 2020. And she did have a primary care doctor.

A recent study of almost 3 million US patients showed that those who visited primary care were much more likely to receive preventive services : 127% more vaccinations, 122% more colonoscopies, and 75% more mammograms. As shown in the following graph, primary care services amount for only 8.1%
