In 2015, surgeons in Manchester, UK have performed the first bionic eye implant for an AMD patient using Second Sight’s innovation. Harbisson received a specialised electronic eye, his “eyeborg” to be able to render perceived colours as sounds on the musical scale. That must have been truly amazing! We have to be ready for that!
