Barbara: Oh, I think it was 2013. Now, my SWHPN friends will get mad at me if I got that wrong, but I think it was 2013. Again, it happened because the dean of the medical school at that time said, “We were teaching interprofessional education and we were quite successful with it and we’ve been doing it for years.”

Graduated in 2013, did a two-year clinician educator track. I was very close with my grandparents growing up, and then I actually was exposed to geriatrics as a pre-med student at Yale New Haven Hospital as one of the volunteers and Dr. I explored other things, but I felt like I consistently gravitated toward the care of older adults.

Knowing I was interested in neurology and had opportunities to observe brain death determination in the hospital. So in the case of Jahi McMath, you were talking about, you know, her family was kicked out of the hospital. We do have, like, a relatively operable consensus around this where, you know, it’s working in the hospitals.
