Simple febrile seizures do not require neurology consults or admissions. And then there’s genetic epilepsy plus febrile seizures, which you are not going to diagnose in the ED. And use lab tests, and especially CT scans of the brain judiciously. They can be discharged home. These are autosomal dominant seizures.
